CreativePixelPhotos offers high-quality photographic coverage of weddings but also family portraits and anniversaries. They also offer some great advice on what to check in a prospective photographer when looking to book for your special occasion.
What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
I'd be delighted to offer a quotation for you. So to give you the best estimate could I ask for the following:-Date of the event, Location, Number of people involved.
What do you want in terms of photographic coverage (number of hours - number of locations etc.)
What format would you like your photos to be delivered - so prints of a certain size, an album or only digital
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Of course, everyone's a photographer these days - and phone snaps do have their place but they also have limitations and that's where a professional photographer comes in.
So if you're looking for a professional photographer their prices are just about the worst indicator of their abilities! Someone buying a camera last week can create a website and put very high prices on there - it's also possible that an experienced top quality photographer might be happy to accept quite low prices.
A better indicator is, of course, their portfolio - on their website - Instagram - and Facebook.
Also, check for some testimonials.
Photography is one of those things; similar to food - you might love Michelin star food or a MacDonalds - there's no right or wrong just what you prefer.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
I got my first camera for my 12th birthday and instantly fell in love with photography. The thrill back then of waiting for the photos to arrive back in the post and nowadays getting back home and uploading the images into Lightroom - it's just the same as all those years ago.
I was fortunate enough many years ago to be in a position to start my photography business - it took a while to book my first wedding but once I'd done one I knew that was the genre for me. I've since attended over 100 weddings but also love photographing "people" in any situation from Families to Glamour model shoots and boudoir.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
There are a lot of platforms online offering to match customers to suppliers. Total honesty here - most are awful! There's one (un-named!) where I've quoted for 20 weddings and not a single contact even bothered to reply to my quote let alone actually book! Add to Event really is different - they seem to attract a different clientele who really are keen to engage with suppliers and from a business point of view Add to Event works fantastically well for me.
I had a booking through Add to Event last year for a "Steam Punk" wedding. Turned out to be one of my most memorable days. Everyone was in "uniform" with some amazing make-up and hair and outfits. Some amazing photos of course but at such an event it's hard not to get great photos - there's just so much to photograph!
The couple loved the photos and I've had several other photoshoots as a result but also many people at the wedding have now used Add to Event for a variety of events with great results.
